Horrible Product
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I normally don't bash a product this bad but this product just plain sucks. I bought mine at Wal-Mart (first mistake) for $34.99 (second mistake). I assumed because of its higher price point that it was a decent FM transmitter but it is by no means a good one. I thought mine was defective but my friend and sister also have them and they both have the same exact problems. I've tried mine in at least 8 different vehicles that I can think of and even a camper but it's never worked without having a lot of static or being really quiet. I live in a rural area that only picks up like 9 different radio stations so I know this isn't caused by interference. This will probably only help a select few but this product sucks in the following vehicles: 93 Mercury Tracer, 05 Subaru Forrester, 02 Suzuki XL-7, 03 Chevy Malibu, 04 Chevy Trailblazer, 03 Chevy Silverado 1500, 02 Chevy Avalanche, 05 Pontiac Grand Am and probably some more that I can't think of.
They don't have an option for zero stars
Just to be specific, I bought the Tune Cast Universal, which is meant for all mp3 players.
The whole point behind buying this product was to listen to my electronic books and music in my car. I had previously been using headphones but had problems hearing my books sometimes and hoped tuning in through my radio would allow me to turn up the volume.
Instead, the sound quality is horrendous-lots of static and interference, regardless of the station, and the volume is two or three times quieter than when I was using my headphones. By the time I turn the radio volume up enough to hear the voices (or music), the static is so loud as to be unbearable. I've tried a number of different stations and positions of the transmitter but with no success. The sad thing is repositioning the transmitter does make a small difference but I can't exactly drive safely while holding the transmitter up near one shoulder.
Don't bother with this device, you'll regret it. I'm returning it tomorrow if I can.
